The following represents some of the many ways CWS is providing assistance through the Blankets+ Program. This report does not reflect transfers of funds for international Blankets+ Program efforts.

International Shipments

  • 1,800 lightweight and 1,500 heavyweight blankets for distribution through partner Iglesia Bando Evangelico Gedeon

Dominican Republic

  • 1,680 heavyweight blankets for distribution through partner Servicio Social de Iglesias Dominicana

United States

  • 250 heavyweight blankets to Community Christian Service Agency in San Diego for distribution to homeless

Colorado

  • 100 heavyweight blankets to Ecumenical Refugee & Immigration Services in Denver for resettling refugees

Delaware

  • 150 heavyweight blankets to Greater Wilmington Adventist Community Services in Bear for distribution to economically disadvantaged and homeless in the area

Florida

  • 120 lightweight blankets to First United Methodist Church in Kissimmee for their homeless overnight shelter

Iowa

  • 150 heavyweight blankets to Olivet Neighborhood Mission and Mission of Hope for distribution to economically disadvantaged and homeless in Cedar Rapids

Kentucky

  • 200 heavyweight and 180 lightweight blankets to Our Lady of Peace Mission in Garrett in response to severe storms

Louisiana

  • 1,890 lightweight and 420 heavyweight blankets to Seventh Day Adventist Convention Center in response to Hurricane Issac

Michigan

  • 200 heavyweight blankets to Neighbor to Neighbor in Berrien Springs for area homeless and migrant workers
  • 150 heavyweight blankets to Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington for distribution to homeless
  • 90 heavyweight blankets to First United Methodist Church in Battle Creek for distribution to homeless

Minnesota

  • 125 heavyweight blankets to Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency in Virginia for distribution to economically disadvantaged families

Missouri

  • 90 lightweight and 75 heavyweight blankets for use through Mississippi County Long Term Recovery Committee
  • 90 lightweight and 75 heavyweight blankets for use through New Madrid County Long Term Recovery Committee

Nebraska

  • 150 heavyweight blankets to Omaha Tribe Emergency Management in Macy

New Jersey

  • 2,010 heavyweight blankets to Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside following Hurricane Sandy
  • 25 heavyweight blankets to Church of the Savior in Paramus for distribution to homeless

  • 300 heavyweight blankets to Iron Gate at Trinity, Inc., in Tulsa for homeless and economically disadvantaged

Oregon

  • 200 heavyweight blankets to United Community Action Network in Grants Pass for homeless and economically disadvantaged

Pennsylvania

  • 1,020 heavyweight blankets to Lehigh County Emergency Management in Allentown in response to Hurricane Sandy

Texas

  • 60 lightweight blankets to Central Presbyterian Church in Austin for use in their homeless shelter
  • 50 heavyweight blankets to Open Hands Community Charitable Services in Donna for distribution in the Rio Grande Valley

Virginia

  • 50 heavyweight blankets to be distributed to refugees through the Virginia Council of Churches in Richmond

Washington

  • 200 heavyweight blankets to Homeless Network of Yakima County for distribution to homeless
