Typhoon Haiyan
With winds stronger than a category 5 hurricane, Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines on November 8, is feared to have killed more than 10,000 people. Some 11.8 million people in nine regions have been affected, and 1 million of these displaced from their homes. CWS is responding to immediate needs through partners within the ACT Alliance. Cambodia deluge and displacement
Cambodia is experiencing severe flooding as a result of heavy rainfall caused by typhoons and other severe weather systems. With the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers overflowing, 16 of 20 provinces have been affected and some 119,000 people have been displaced by the flooding – including extremely poor families, many of whom are landless migrant workers. Find out how CWS is helping.

Syrian Refugees
CWS is drawing on its decades of refugee resettlement experience to help the tens of thousands of Syrian refugees that are now in Cairo. Read the full situation report, or read a statement from CWS President and CEO Rev. John McCullough.
