At Granger United Methodist Church in Medina, Ohio, women’s groups and children make and sell beautiful greeting cards with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the CWS Blankets+ program.

When the greeting card ministry started in 2002, it yielded $200 from the sale of homemade Mother’s and Father’s Day cards.  By 2012 it had expanded to a full range of greeting cards with profits of $3,768 in 2012 alone.  Children in the congregation are fully engaged in the project as well, with their own “kids making cards for kids” ministry. The congregation’s cumulative donation to CWS is nearly $24,000 – all from the sale of homemade cards!

Mission Outreach Team Leader Molly Adams said she was amazed a ministry that started with only Mother’s and Father’s Day cards could raise so much money.
