    <title>Assistant Regional Director – Louisiana/Texas Region</title>

    <description>This position collaborates with the Managing Regional Director in the management oversight, staff supervision, and annual development and implementation of fund raising goals of the Funds Development and Marketing program of Church World Service.  Working from the Austin, Texas office location, the Assistant Regional Director’s territorial assignment covers the states of Texas and Louisiana and is a part of the Great West Area of CWS.  

Within the scope of the regional program and consistent with national and Area priorities, the Assistant Director carries responsibility for the development, maintenance, and oversight of volunteer networks that carry out the planning and coordination of a variety of fund raising activities, with emphasis on the organization of community-based special events, i.e., CROP Hunger Walks.  He/she promotes other volunteer-led fund raising activities that seek funds from congregations, women’s groups, and others in support of the CWS Blankets+ Program, CWS Kits Program, and other CWS program initiatives.  The Assistant Director educates various constituencies about the issues of hunger, poverty, and its related causes, and interprets CWS’s response.  She/he assists with the development and implantation of an online presence that augments the regional fund raising and programmatic outreach.    

This exempt position requires a valid automobile operator’s license.  At least 60 percent time within the assigned Region is allocated to direct fundraising activities, including on-site community presence, to facilitate fund raising activities.  Attendance at regular regional and occasional Great West Area and national management and training meetings is required.  The ability to work a typical work week averaging 45-50 hours, including evenings and weekends, is expected.  Computer and electronic communications competency is essential.</description>
